Course Description
The Center for Dairy Research (CDR), in cooperation with Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA), are offering a new wastewater short course. This live, in-person, one-day course includes morning instruction and an afternoon interactive site visit at the Agropur wastewater treatment facility near Little Chute, WI. This course is designed as an introduction to wastewater processing for new industry operators or a refresher for experienced operators.
Learn the fundamentals of wastewater treatment from CDR and industry instructors. Instruction topics include:
- objectives of wastewater treatment
- wastewater terminology
- differences between dairy wastewater and municipal wastewater systems
- sources and attributes of dairy wastewater
- regulatory limits and permits
- wastewater treatment systems
- optimizing wastewater treatment operations
Participants will travel to the nearby Agropur wastewater treatment facility near Little Chute, WI to tour a state-of-the-art wastewater processing facility.
