Video profile | Gina’s love of the dairy industry began when she was raised on a fifth-generation family dairy farm outside Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science and a Master of Business Administration Degree. As Coordinator of the Cheese Industry and Applications Group at the Center for Dairy Research, Gina works closely with cheese and butter brokers, ingredient and equipment suppliers, and manufacturers – from farmstead to commercial. She is a Wisconsin licensed Cheesemaker, Buttermaker, Cheese Grader, and Butter Grader, and is involved with everything from cheese and butter trials and troubleshooting to short course instruction and outreach efforts. Gina particularly enjoys working with cheese and butter makers to develop new specialty products. She has served as a technical judge for county, state, national, and international dairy product contests.
