Course Description

This course is open all year round and is focused on preparing you for the Wisconsin Cheesemaker license exam, administered by the State of Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Click HERE to start the licensing process with WDATCP. 

If you have taken (or are currently registered) for a CDR Cheesemaking Fundamentals course, please contact CDR's Short Course Coordinator Andrea Miller. This module will be available to you for no fee. 

This online, self-led module is recommended to complete along with CDR's Cheesemaking Fundamentals course prior to sitting for the exam. Together, these courses cover the science and regulatory requirements for making safe, high quality cheese. Upon registration, you will receive an email with your online portal access information. Once you receive this information you may access the portal as soon and as often as you'd like. Please contact Heather Cooper for questions on portal access, and/or registration. 

Course Objectives: 

  • Review the WDATCP requirements to qualify to take the license exam.
  • Understand the key pieces of regulatory requirements a licensed Cheesemaker must know.
  • Learn the math equations included in the WDATCP license exam.
  • Gain access to links to applicable regulations and study materials.
